The Mission of Southwest Valley Literacy Association* is to teach English literacy to adults
promoting self-worth, pride, and productivity.  This is accomplished through the
recruiting and 
training of volunteers, soliciting a generous community, using a proven
program of total immersion, and 
community involvement.

Southwest Valley Literacy Association, an affiliate of  ProLiteracy America, is a  
non-profit organization. Tutors are volunteers trained to teach English using the 

Southwest Valley Literacy Association is not affiliated with state or local  
governments or religious institutions.   All adults, regardless of nationality or ethnicity, 
who wish to learn to speak, read, and write English are welcome to enroll. 

All proceeds will be used for tutor training, tutor and student materials, and office support.

Welcome to Mike Ketcham and his wife Andy, our two new Tutors from our November ESL training class. 
Mike and Andy live in Litchfield Park . Andy is a watercolor artist from Catitude Gallery and Mike enjoys golf, travel and history.
Mike is a nephew of Jean Ruth Stewart, one of the pioneer tutors for Southwest Valley Literacy. We are grateful to Jean who referred Mike and Andy to us. 
They are ready to meet and begin to work with their waiting students.
We wish them much success and fun in their new endeavor.
