​John Cosgrove, Principal & Owner of AZ Growth Advisors, brings over 40 years’ leadership and business management experience to the AZ Growth Advisors process, including expertise in strategic planning, marketing, sales, operations and administration.

Jan Cosgrove serves as the President of the Southwest Valley Literacy Organization.

Jan has both a business and teaching

education background. With an Masters in

Education she has spent several years

teaching high school English followed by

management positions at both the local

and national level in the field of

communications. Jan is a Pro Literacy

certified trainer of tutors and also tutors

students. She brings organizational skills

and passion for the success of SVLA to this position.  Jan resides in Goodyear. (

Susan Rudoy, Serves as the Vice President

of Southwest Valley Literacy

Susan is Board Member, Tutor Trainer, Tutor.  

She holds a Master’s Degree from Colgate

University N.Y. in Social Studies and a

Masters in Special Education from

Bowling Green, Ohio with a specialty in

working with learning disabled students,

is now retired and a Certified Pro-Literacy America trainer as well as an active tutor.  (

​​Jeff Shank serves as the Treasurer for SVLA. 

Jeff is a retired business executive 

currently residing at Pebble Creek

in Goodyear. Both Jeff and his wife are active SVLA tutors and also serve as 

after-school tutors in the

Phoenix/Glendale School systems. (                                                                                                 

The Executive Committee positions are filled by volunteers. Each member is responsible for specific functions to operate SVLA. The Advisory Board consists of individuals who donate their expertise on an “as needed” basis.

Working Board Meetings are held the second Tuesday of each month from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m.  If you wish to attend and/or address the Board, please call ahead (623-695-4321) to be added to the meeting agenda.
